Convenient HMO conversion for students
12.09.18 – project complete, students moved in – As this is our most convenient student property, it was fully let shortly after going on the market. Its appeal is huge.
You can now see the property transformation in its entirety. It’s been quite a journey, but the finished article makes that journey very worthwhile.
31.07.18 – progress update – It’s now just a matter of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s with our Thornton Road project. And giving it a good clean! After that, it’ll be ready for three lucky students to move into.
As luck (and quite a bit of planning) would have it, our Lettings team already have those three lucky students in place for September.
This has been a terrific effort from everyone at HIM. To get this one up to the usual HMO standards and fully tenanted has been a great achievement.
06.06.18 – progress update – The weather is hotting up and so are our building team. With the September student check-ins just around the corner, we’re having to get a shift on with this one. But that’s where our team come into their own.
HIM is not regarded as Stoke’s trusted HMO specialist for no good reason. When our backs are against the wall, we step away from the wall, make sure all the electrics are in place, plasterboard it, skim it, attach the skirting boards and then paint it to the highest standard. Because that’s how we roll!
We’re approximately half way there now and steady progress is being made. There are no signs of the former outside toilet anymore and as for the gable end, let’s just say that we’re Batman and that Poison Ivy has been taken care of.
There’s nothing we like more than a tasty HMO conversion right in the centre of the student quarter. We’ll shortly be moulding this great little end terrace into a top notch 3 bedroom house share with one en-suite.
For students situated at the University’s College Road Campus, it will almost be enough to roll out of bed and be within the University grounds – it’s that close. And for those over at Leek Road, it’s almost achievable in a hop, step and jump.
There are some interesting adjustments needed before it’s ready for those lucky students, however. We’ll be moving an existing outside toilet back inside as well as removing a huge amount of ivy from the gable end of the house.
Stay tuned for updates as we once again embark on the good ship ‘Refurbishment’.
As HMO conversion experts in Stoke on Trent and Newcastle under Lyme, we know which areas of the City will yield the best returns when transforming a property to an HMO.
This one could not be more conveniently located for Staffordshire University students and should, therefore, generate plenty of interest as soon as it becomes available. That is certainly the case with the other student properties that we manage in close proximity to this one.
